About Us

Though our business is fairly new, we're not new to this field. In fact our experience with plants, garden centers, greenhouses, etcetera can be traced back as far as the '80s, when we grew among other things, some really big hair.

But as for being in business for ourselves...

Premiumplantplugs.com originated as an offshoot from a family-run wholesale nursery, Cimarron Creek Farms, in rural Oklahoma. In 2003, Ron McCurdy, the founder and owner, bought 15 acres and built a couple of commercial-sized greenhouses and several cold frames and began selling perennials and annuals wholesale to retail nurseries and garden centers in Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Sand Springs, Sapulpa, Jenks, Okmulgee, and Henryetta.

Of course it wasn't always easy...

But we did our best to cope with what life and mother nature dealt us. What little initial success we saw, however, was short-lived. Less than a year after being established, Cimarron Creek was the subject of a hostile takeover...

They ruled with iron paws. So it wasn't always pleasant working for them, catering to their every whim. Often, even their own progeny shuddered when the two came past.

Then at one point, Patrick, Ron's son, said "Hey you know what? I bet if we offered plant plugs on the internet, cutting out the middle man (or at least one of the middle men), it would be a big hit!" Premiumplantplugs.com was born!!!!!

It was a great idea, rife with possibilities, but unfortunately, at about the same time, a newcomer arrived on the scene...

Of course a vicious bitter power struggle ensued...

These are photos of all of our staff...or at least the ones who would consent to having their pictures posted on the web. Actually, the truth is, some of us are quite camera shy.
