We want you to be happy, A, because we're nice like that , and B, because obviously you'll want to return and purchase more plants from us in the future. This sums up our guarantee:

 

"We guarantee to provide healthy plants, true to name, delivered to you in great condition with clear instructions for their planting and care. We also guarantee to provide prompt courteous customer service should you need any assistance or have any questions."

Because of the nature of some people we do put limits on our guarantee. We had a small landscaping job one year that included planting an Autumn Blaze maple in the middle of a customer's yard. Someone living down the street saw us working and hired us to do a bigger job for them when we were finished with the small job. So every day we'd drive by and see the original smaller job we'd done and notice that the maple wasn't getting watered at all. We stopped and told the customer. "You need to water your tree. It's dying." She evidently didn't water it at all or didn't water it very well because when we drove past on the following Monday it was wilting again. We got out and looked. The mulch was dry as a bone. So we pulled the hose out from the back yard and watered it for her. Long story short: About two weeks after we finished the other job she called and said "I have a dead tree out here. What are you going to do?"

 

Of course we didn't replace it and of course she was completely furious.

 

The point to the story is that when you buy our plugs, we don't get the benefit of driving by to see if you're taking care of them. Some people will even get them in the mail, not get around to planting them for whatever reason and then want their money back.

 

For that reason our guarantee on plant health is 7 days after you receive them. Also, this guarantee is void if you choose to ship with UPS Ground in order to save money because being in transit up to 6 days is too much of a gamble.

 

If you see some evidence of pests or disease (and you won't) simply take a picture of it and email us, ship them back to us, and we'll either send you new ones or issue a full refund. We'll refund the shipping charges too.

 

The plants you receive will be healthy because while they're here in our greenhouses they receive quality care in optimum conditions. Of course they could be a little stressed from shipping when you receive them which is normal since nothing is going to grow and thrive in a dark box. If you following the planting and care instructions they will quickly recover from any stress and make a good transition to their new home in your garden.

 

Plants don't usually get terminal diseases. The only one that is a major concern to the horticultural community these days is the nasty Hosta Virus X which IS terminal. There is no cure. That's why we receive all of our hosta plugs from suppliers that grow them from disease free tissue cultures so there's no way they could have HVX. Many of our other plugs also come from tissue cultures which not only helps prevent disease, but insures that they're true to name. Speaking of which...

Our guarantee that your plants will be true to name is limited to 2 years.

 

This is because most of your plugs will flower the same year you receive them but some might not flower until the following year and you might need to see a flower to know that you somehow got the wrong variety. This can't happen with the plugs we grow ourselves because we know for a fact what variety they are. It is possible though that we could be supplied the wrong variety by a vendor and not be able to determine that from the leaves only.  That would be a rare circumstance though, but we would do an exchange or refund your money including shipping.

If for any reason you receive a package that looks like it wasn't packed properly or was damaged by the shipping company, let us know immediately, take pictures of it and email them to us, and we'll quickly ship you replacements or refund your money, including the shipping charges.
