EASY Plant Selector

The EASY Plant Selector

Even if you aren't particularly knowledgeable when it comes to plants, you can use this Plant Selector to help you make successful choices of plants that are suited to your area of the country and the specific conditions found in your landscape.

Step 1: Narrow down the list of plants that we sell to only plants that are hardy in your area. If you don't know your hardiness zone, you can find it by entering your zip code at this link. Once you have it, choose your zone from this drop-down box:

Once you've selected a zone, a table will appear below that contains only plants that are hardy in your zone.

Step 2: If you wish, in the first drop-down box (labeled "Type") above the table, narrow down the results to the type of plant you would like. Your choices are regular perennials or perennial groundcovers. If you want the results in the table to only display one or the other, then select that type. If you want to see both, don't select anything in this drop-down box.

Step 3: Select "Yes" in all of the light conditions you want to apply to the results in the table. Generally, if you're planting in an unobstructed West or South-facing location, you would choose Sun. East-facing locations are Part Sun/Part Shade. North-facing is Shade.

Step 4: Select "Yes" for drought-tolerant or for wet-tolerant if you're wanting plants best suited to those conditions.

Step 5: Click "Apply". Your list is narrowed down. There's a link at the beginning of each row that takes you directly to that plant.
