How many plants do I need?

Use this calculator to determine the number of plants you will need to fill a given area.

Here enter the

percent of the

planting area

you'd like to fill

with this plant.

Desired plant

spacing in inches:

1. Select either a rectangular or

     circular planting area.

2. Select the percentage of the

     planting area that you'd like

to fill with this plant variety.

3. Enter the amount in inches

that you want to space the

plants. This can vary from a

     few inches less than the

     plant's width to several

     inches more than the plant's

     width, depending on your

     preference. Plant width is

listed on the product page of

     each plant.

4. Enter either the length and

     width for a rectangular area,

or the radius of an entire

     circular area and the radius

     of the internal area which

isn't included in the bed (for

     example: the internal area

     space could be occupied by

     a large tree and therefore

that section won't figure in to

the total area of the bed).

5. Click on "Calculate" to see

     the result.
